God Is A Jealous God!

“I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to
to carved images (Isa 42:8). "

What is taking the place of God in your life? Is it your new job that has made you abandon God? Your children has replaced God? Your spouse has made you put God on the back burner? Your business has made you too busy for God? What has taken the glory of God in your life? Whatever you exalt and reference more than Him has taken His place in your heart. It is very dangerous to engage in such-it is death. God is too big to share is glory with anyone. He is a jealous God. Did He not emphasize it in His Word? It is written,

"...for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God...Exodus 20:4-6."
" For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God
...Exodus 34:14."
" (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be
kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth...Deuteronomy 6:15 "

God is a jealous God. He does not take it well when anyone or anything take His place in our hearts. Sometime last year, an older friend of mine told me about her marital problems. She said she once feared her husband more than God:I was shocked. I was quick to tell her that she was the reason behind her marital problems. I said to her," God is a jealous God: He won't share His glory with anyone."God is unchangeable-He won't change His Word because of our foolishness.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings
of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.
Psalm 16:4

God's anger is against those who loves anything or anyone more than Him. The Prophets of Baal lost their lives because they esteemed a powerless god (1 Kings 18: 20-40). God has warned us about choosing another god-obedience is better than sacrifice.
